okay so cami,my sister, had an amazing experience on her mission and this her talking an telling the story:
Sadi Rogers from the University Ward brought her friend Elyse Colby to church last Sunday. Elyse is so cute and was excited when we asked if we could teach her. When we met with her on Thursday, Elyse had already finished 1 Nephi and said she felt SOOO happy when she read. As we taught her the Restoration, this girl could not stop smiling and ALL 4 of us were super excited afterwards. We asked when we could meet with her next and she was like "TOMORROW! TONIGHT!! RIGHT NOW!!!!" haha... Oh man, she is prepared! Over the next 24 hours, Elyse had several experiences that enabled her to feel the Spirit witness these truths to her- she prayed and had a beautiful calming experience that stopped her weeping immediately, she tearfully wrote down what she was feeling and felt a strengthening power come over her- to the point where she picked up the phone and called her parents. In doing that, she overcame a huge fear in asking her parents to support her in her desire to know more about the Church. She also attended institute- all that within 24 hours!! On Saturday afternoon when we met with her, it was as if she was going to burst with happiness! It was beautiful. We taught the Plan of Salvation and she just took it all in and said it all made sense. The "FAMILIES FOREVER" part made her super happy. At the end of the lesson, Sister Crandall and I felt prompted to extend a baptismal date we had prayed about. As I asked her to be baptized on April 19, she looked quite in shock, I'm not going to lie haha so I asked her what she thought and Elyse said, "Well,... I was a little shocked when you said that date, because I met my very best friend who's Mormon on April 19." We all started crying and I told her it was no coinsidence (sp?) that Sis Crandall and I had felt strongly about that day. She was crying for a while and when I asked her how she felt, she said "Amazing! I think thats a perfect day to aim for!" It was amazing!!
